GREEN PEPPERS ALBUM LAUNCH. MONORAIL FILM CLUB.

Monorail is proud to present a launch party for the lovely new Green Peppers album, Adventures In The Slipstream - late summer mood music from Jim McCulloch with a stellar cast including Emma Pollock. Jim is a brilliant guitar player who in recent times has formed another enchanted project called Snowgoose and contributed to Isobel Campbell's music. He's also a former BMX Bandit and Soup Dragon. DJ is Gerard Love of Teenage Fanclub and The Pastels. Sunday 17th August from 8pm. Free.

This month's film club features Milos Forman's A Blonde in Love, one of the greatest films of the Czech new-wave. Made in 1965, it tells the story of a charming, slightly gauche girl from a fading industrial town who falls for a touring musician from a Prague group. When she doesn't hear from him again, she packs up and arrives at his family house in the big city. Chosen and presented by Al Kingsbury of the Monorail Film Club. Sunday 24th August 2008, 7.15pm. We recommend booking tickets in advance. GFT, Rose Street, Glasgow. 0141 332 8128.
